Typography/Book Design
Purpose
Design a book based on the theme of “survival”, while using type and/or layout to convey this theme throughout.
Concept
Gerontology. This is what occurs everyday. To show aging and progression was my challenge. My typography and layouts began to grow longer on each page, like the rings on the trunk of a tree. I used this concept throughout to really portray the degeneration of people. I also chose to show the aging in nature, like trees and leaves, for my photography concept to incorporate this theme even further. The color scheme is light, neutral, and also fading in color to show what happens when you age. Overall, this project was a rewarding challenge that left me with a nice typographic design in the end.
